EFPF Workshop at I-ESA Conference 2022

This year in the I-ESA2022 conference, EFPF organised a workshop titled "AI Beyond Efficiency: Interoperability Towards Industry 5.0". the workshop provided a timely opportunity to discuss the role of AI and humans, in the context of Industry5.0, within the increasingly digitalised manufacturing sector. I-ESA is the major event regarding Enterprise Interoperability and the official conference of Virtual Laboratory for Enterprise Interoperability (INTEROP-VLab) with the sponsorship of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP). Accepted and presented papers will be published by CEUR Workshops Proceedings.
Event Impact
The workshop received very positive response from the research community and 10 papers were finally accepted for presentation in the workshop. Among those was a paper about the furniture pilot in the EFPF project and another paper from one of the EFPF open-call projects describing the role of EFPF Data Spine in enabling interoperability among AI systems. During the workshop, the audience also discussed the role of AI and humans in different digital manufacturing scenarios, enabled or supported by EFPF Data Spine and other federated solutions.
